Our Fishies

Well we have been blessed with our second fish for our family. Ashton began his first term of “swimming” lessons last week.

Now I am sure that big sister Imogen had been whispering him sweet swimming advice.

The teacher was genuinely surprised when Ashton, casually went under the water without any issue, blew some bubbles and relaxed on his back with his ears in the water. She asked me several times have you done a lot of water time with him..ah not really, he is only just 10 months, so last summer he was too little and we don’t have a bath so he showers instead. We had our very own paparazzi watching us at lessons, with my friend Dana filming, her youngest Penny taking photos for them and her oldest Victoria taking photos for us, now that was a sight…Thanks girls : ).

It was a week of milestones for the bubba, first swimming lesson, and then he finally decided to move. Where one day he shuffle forward a little in the commando mode, to the next day he was off, artistically arranging my sister’s little house.

Oh yes its going to be an interesting summer with the moving boy and the pool. Though after the 3 hour sleep he had after swimming lessons, you can almost guess what I will be doing with Ashton in the morning when the weather is nicer.

Big Bubbly Kisses from Ashton to you

Best Friends Forever

Hi all

Yesterday I was lucky enough to be blessed with a visit from someone very special to our Immie. Imogen’s best friend Dakota and her mum Sharyn came to visit us. Dakota is the sweetest girl, she recently celebrated her 6th birthday (finally) and as Imogen could not be there she got her mum to print a big picture of Imogen and placed a doll she has named Imogen, near to her party so everyone could see her best friend Imogen and so Imogen could be at her party. Imogen and Dakota were destined to be best friends, and I have no doubt they will continue to be in future lives. It is uncanny that these two little girls end up being together through schooling the last three years and they both have brothers named Kody/Cody.
I was even lucky enough to get a big bear hug from Dakota, which reminded me of my Imogen’s hugs.

Thank you for visiting me Dakota and Sharyn; you definitely were my best bit of my day yesterday.

Love Fiona

P.S. I decided to listen to my own philosophies’ (thanks to the people who reminded me of them) and celebrated a fabulous birthday with my boys.
Even though Imogen was muchly missed, it was one of the first birthdays I have had in over three years when I have not been worrying about anything serious. We all had a great day, Breakfast, Immie visit, Just Dance (birthday present) on the WII (very funny), Shrek 3 at the movies; more Just Dance and Jason prepared my favourites for dinner with all my family. It was truly a day when I counted my blessings. Thanks for the birthday wishes.

Our Love

To our dearest girl Imogen,

10 weeks today on the 10th of July, without your giggles and smiles. It feels like a life time already. We hope the weather has been kind like the warm 32’s Granma and Bumpa have been having in Darwin this week. We all continue to travel this uncharted road without you here physically, though I can feel you surrounding us in spirit.

Thanks for all the messages last week; you are truly beautiful, babycakes.

Mum will try to strong without you tomorrow as I know the boys and you would want that.

Your big brother read something us out today off the card that came with Ashton’s hungry caterpillar toy, it made me and Dad think of you…

“The very hungry caterpillar is about hope. You, like the little caterpillar, will grow up, unfold your wings and fly off into the future”.

Looking forward to that future when we meet again, our sweets.

Love, Hugs, Kisses Always

Celebrations

Hi all

I must confess this week has been one of my hardest to work through.
You see, it’s not only the everyday routine and quirks of Miss Immie I have missed, but it is the looming prospect of my first birthday without her.

My 2nd birthday (ok 32nd birthday, I told Immie last year that I turned 1 on my birthday and she bought it, whenever anyone would ask what my number was she would loudly announce that I was 1 : P), is tomorrow.

I have been getting asked by my family what I would like and what I want to do…every time this question brings a flood of tears. I just can’t believe I will be celebrating a birthday without Imogen hugs, kisses and a card with her little name written all by herself.
Presents, gifts and celebrations seem pointless without her, when all I want is her back. Something no one can give me, but a gift many would be desperate to give us back.
When I search my memory for my last birthday, I am torn by the difference of the two. Just last year, Imogen spent the day at a Camp Quality Fairies and Scaries party, with her CQ friends.

I spent the day with my lovely sister and then in the evening we all got together for dinner and cake. I am fortunate enough to have many photos of that evening.

Celebrations are always going to be incredibly hard without her by our side.

Though if I think (or dream) hard enough I can imagine her smile and delight, at sharing my birthday with me, giving me specially picked presents and a card. Imogen would have been so excited for me, busting to keep the secret of what her present was for me. I have to dream, it helps my heart a little.

Kody spent the first week of school holidays with his Nana and Pop, he had a great time. He came back loving and talking non stop. It was awfully quiet without him, but glad he was distracted from another first for us – first school holidays with no Immie.
Ashton and I spent the week keeping ourselves busy, visiting friends, my sister several times, Imogen daily, going to the gym and walking Molly.

Ashton is on the verge of finally getting the crawling thing; he has worked how to transfer from sitting to his belly. He is winning the Holmes’ family tooth competition with 7 teeth now (what’s family without a little health competition: )).
His cousin Sienna (a month or so older than him) has been crawling for ages, and is now standing, it is so cute. Last weekend they came to visit and Sienna would crawl away then look back at Ashton as if to say…” Are you coming?”, and then when he didn’t she would crawl back and look strangely at him. Sienna was absolutely delighted when she saw Ashton, biggest smiles and giggles, it was the cutest.
It was great to see our beautiful nieces and nephews and Jacinta and Colin. Our nephew Rhylee even managed to lose a tooth whilst here : ).

It’s great to have close family around.
