On the 28th of Jan 2008, we decided it was time to test out the new Perth to Mandurah, train line. We start our journey at Dianella via a bus stop. Then we walked to the train stop from the Perth bus station. There we quickly got on to the train and proceeded on our smooth ride.....only be stopped at O'Connor. Then moved off the train to wait on the other side, at first we thought that this must be the norm, but then discovered that one of the Mandurah trains had broken down on the rail line and we were now having to catch the train on the other side.
So after 30 mins wait, which also include two more train loads arriving, we were put on a train that resembled peak hour train riding...mmmm...luckily we were only about 20 mins from Mandurah. We arrived in Mandurah to find all the shuttles to the forum and foreshore full as there were such a back log of passengers.
We decided in the end to walk to the forum, there we arrived and had lunch. Shortly after my Aunty Donelle and cousin, Karly arrived and we went down to the fore shore (saw our neighbours from across the road - freaky) and then to the man made beach (ta Aunty). By this stage it was already 4.30pm and time to catch the train again and go home, arriving once again in peak hour train/ bus traffic (good planning on my behalf).
Besides those minor things the whole idea of catching the train to Mandurah was great and relaxing.
